Britain's Best Home

'We fell in love with the property instantly, without even going inside, and Ben has just enhanced that with the interiors. I don't think we'll ever leave.'

Project History:
This Grade II listed five bedroom Victorian folly is set in an estate in West Yorkshire with nine acres of park and woodland. Built in 1826, the property has an air of grandeur about it and the owners fell in love with it the minute they saw it. The property has a different view from every window and is complete with battlements, towers, and its very own herd of deer. The exterior of the property was spectatcular, if not a little run down, but the interior needed a little work...

Ben Huckerby Design Brief:
The Ben Huckerby Design team were brought in to project manage a complete re-design of the property including adding an indoor pool and external landscaping including removing derelict buildings and re-sculpting the surrounding area.

After the initial client consult a luscious contemporary interior scheme was decided on.

The outcome:
The owners are absolutely thrilled with the finished project, their favourite interior feature being the hot tub in the pool house with its own TV. The property is a shining example of the very finest Yorkshire interior design, proven by its current title of 'Britain's Best Home' after winning this accolade through the Channel 5 series.
