Process
At BHD we can offer you as much or as little advice as you, the customer, require.
Below is a guide to our services. You are welcome to proceed through all the stages with us or just choose whatever suits YOUR requirements. If you are unsure as to what you require then feel free to call and chat to the team or call into our Leeds showroom to see us.
Stage 1 Initial Consultation
£150.00 for any property within a 20 mile radius (outside this radius, please call for a quote) A designer will travel to your home for a maximum of two hours and spend time investigating your requirements, discussing your brief and offering the relevant advice for your project. This payment is required in full prior to the visit.
This charge is to cover the loss of copyright where clients take an idea and source in a different way.
Stage 2 Presentation of Ideas
£350.00 for the presentation of ideas. The designer will present a printed sample board for each scheme. This will cover examples where possible of all agreed fabrics, wall finishes, floor coverings and furniture requirements as discussed in your initial meeting. This payment is required in full before the presentation goes ahead, and covers the time; drawings and materials covered in co-ordinating the presentation. The charge again protects our copyright
Stage 3 Bespoke Items
We can design, manufacture and supply bespoke items specifically for your project. All bespoke items do require design time which will be charged at £35.00 per hour (plus VAT) your designer will advise you on how many hours you will need for your project. The bespoke item will be subject to our standard terms and will need to be paid for in full prior to order as ALL manufacturers and upholsterers require payment with order, as we deal with them on your behalf.
Stage 4 Supply Only
We can source and supply all of your fabric, furnishing and accessories etc. You will receive a detailed quotation for your approval prior to the placement of any purchase orders. At this stage you are able to add or remove any items until you are happy to proceed with the ACTUAL order. Payment terms for this option are 60% deposit on acceptance of the quotation, 30% prior to commencement of deliveries and the final 10% upon completion.
Other ways BHD can help....
If you are not ready to commit to a full interior design scheme, BHD can offer the following consultation fee structure on full house builds or re-designs to ensure you have the detail of your interior fully co-ordinated with your architectural ideals.
- 1. Liaising with you, we can amend architects drawings to ensure the house flows seamlessly from architecture and build to the interior. This can be done through either meetings at your home address but preferably within our design studio at Pure Design.
- 2. On a full house project we expect this process to take no longer than 10 design hours
- 3. Using the amended plans, compiling a comprehensive floor plan showing furniture positions and concept mood boards to accompany the furniture layouts.
- 4. This may seem premature at this point but it is crucial as it leads to the correct installation of the electrical circuitry and ducting
- 5. We will also meet and liaise with other trades such as joiners, bathroom and kitchen designers to explain the brief and collate information, ready to present to you. this often takes up to 60 hours
- 6. Compiling accurate specification sheets in line with your tastes and interior needs.
- 7. Choosing fabrics, wall coverings and other soft furnishings and preparing a full room by room quotation. This would take approximately 10 hours.
- 8. At this point you are in a position to source the specified furniture yourselves, should you decide to do so. Obviously to achieve the truly seamless interior scheme complete with accessories it is preferable and in most cases better value for money for BHD to source in-house – This means that you have one point of contact for ALL your interior.
Along the way you may choose to decorate rooms in order of preference, but you can feel safe in the knowledge that we as designers will keep the whole interior as one overall scheme, giving each room its own personality whilst making sure the decor flows effortlessly by the use of co-ordinated colour palates.

Personal Shopper
We offer a personal shopper service to accompany clients on visits to showrooms, art galleries, antique dealers and fairs etc. Fee's are £500 inc VAT for half a day or £900 inc VAT for a 7 hour day including lunch.
